The program
How the Program Works

Phase 1 — Online, on demand
Start any time. Most participants complete it in 5 days to 2 weeks.

Phase 2 — One hands-on week in Barcelona
At the Oftalmo University European Campus, located at IMO Barcelona: one Haag-Streit Eyesi simulator per trainee, only 3 trainees per week, a mentor at your side from 9:00 to 16:00, plus wet and dry lab.

Certification
Oftalmo University certificate plus a simulator certificate with your hours and training metrics.
Eligibility
- All ophthalmologists — residents, fellows and practising surgeons, with or without phaco experience.
- Based in Saudi Arabia, the GCC or the wider Middle East (or able to travel to Barcelona).
- High drive and growth mindset.
Terms and Conditions
Congress Offer
- The SSCRS 2026 congress offer (€3,250 instead of €3,550 for Phases 1 and 2) applies to doctors who meet us at the 1st Annual International Conference of the SSCRS in Jeddah (24–26 September 2026) and apply by 3 October 2026.
- Applications after the deadline are welcome at the standard price.
- Hands-on weeks run Monday to Friday with only 3 places per week, so dates are confirmed in order of enrolment.
